This brief in part draws from discussions held by experts at workshops on accountability of private security actors in countering violent extremism (CVE) convened by the Centre for Human Rights and Policy Studies (CHRIPS) in Kilifi, Kwale, Mombasa, Nairobi, and Nakuru counties between August and September 2021.
