About

The CVE Research Hub

A knowledge and advocacy platform serving as a centre of excellence in research on policy, practice, and theory — now evolving into Kenya's integrated CVE and AML/CFT knowledge resource.

The Countering Violent Extremism (CVE) Research Hub was established in 2017 to respond to a rise in terror-related attacks and arrests in Kenya. Hosted and managed by the Centre for Human Rights and Policy Studies (CHRIPS), it brings together researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and community-based organisations to share evidence, build relationships, and strengthen coordinated action.

Through high-quality research, practitioner exchange, and the CHRIPS Terrorism Observatory, the Hub supports work that is rigorous, transparent, and grounded in local context. In 2026, the platform is being upgraded — in partnership with Transparency International Kenya — to integrate a dedicated AML/CFT knowledge repository serving Non-Profit Organisations navigating Kenya's evolving compliance landscape.

This phased upgrade will introduce structured thematic collections, improved discoverability, interactive tools, and visual resources — while preserving the Hub's role as a trusted public good for Kenya's CVE community.
