Digital Platforms, Angry Youth, and a Nation at Risk: Time for a New Approach

This article examines the growing risk of political extremism and radicalization in Kenya driven by digital platforms, youth anger, and widening generation gaps. It argues that traditional methods of addressing youth unrest and radicalization have been abandoned in favor of crude methods, creating fertile ground for violent extremism and tribal militias. The author calls for a new approach involving genuine listening, digital and media information literacy, and policies ensuring responsible use of communication infrastructure.
