Young Cities Booklet: Kenya
Strong Cities Network, January 2022
Summary
This booklet provides a detailed account of Strong Cities Network's youth engagement programme, Young Cities, in Kenya between 2018 and 2021, with Nakuru added in 2022. Over four years and three cities, Strong Cities trained 127 young people to develop and manage community-based initiatives to prevent hate, polarisation and extremism, supporting 25 youth-led projects which engaged 3.5 thousand young people directly and reached 1.15 million more. The programme also worked with 57 local officials to develop more inclusive youth policies and organised an exchange in Nakuru to discuss strategies to prevent election violence.
